Fabrice studied at the Dante Agostini drum school in Paris, the AIMRA jazz school in Lyon (one of the largest in France) and at the Cégep de Saint-Laurent in Montréal. He later continued his musical education by taking part in workshops, in particular on Brazilian percussion with Jean-Paul Ceccarelli (Sting) and African percussion with Billy Cobham. Fabrice honed his style through private lessons with Uzeb’s Paul Brochu and studied rhythm and technique for a variety of Brazilian percussion instruments during a three-month trip across Brazil. As a professional musician, Fabrice has performed at a wide range of venues, festivals and corporate events in Canada and internationally, including the Montréal Jazz Festival, the Francofolies, the World Film Festival, the Rimouski International Jazz Festival, and the Franco-Ontarian Festival. He also performed with Les Colocs for the 1999 Fête Nationale concert, broadcast live on Radio Canada, and was part of British guitarist Rony Jordan’s North American tour. Fabrice is known for his groove and sense of melody. His versatility and curiosity have led to his involvement in wide-ranging projects. He has regularly recorded music by different composers for film and documentary. The list of his artistic collaborations keeps growing (see list opposite). Fabrice is always looking for new projects in different styles. He divides his time between his studio, his own compositions and live performances. |
